Job Posting – Project Coordinator for the LEADER Project “Preserving Heritage Together”
1. Background and Project Description
The World Heritage Management of the Cultural Landscape Hallstatt–Dachstein / Salzkammergut intends to implement the LEADER project “Preserving Heritage Together.” The goal of the project is to raise awareness of and protect the regional cultural heritage of the Salzkammergut through participatory approaches and the involvement of the local population.
The Inner Salzkammergut is a World Heritage Site, distinguished by its cultural and natural elements worth preserving. The project “Preserving Heritage Together” documents these stories and characteristics by combining two ongoing heritage initiatives:
- Topothek Project: Creation of a multimedia online archive for historical media from private households in Bad Goisern, Hallstatt, Gosau, and Obertraun.
- Cultural Landscape Registry WHEIM: Development and population of a scientific cultural and natural landscape registry.
Both projects actively encourage citizen participation (collection cafés, research days, workshops) to gather images and stories across generations. This approach strengthens local identity, promotes regional awareness, and enables a vibrant, sustainable documentation of heritage while leveraging synergies and saving resources.

The project seeks a qualified Project Coordinator to ensure successful implementation with the following main tasks:
