Accessibility Statement
welterbe-salzkammergut.at strives to make its websites accessible in accordance with the Web Accessibility Act (WZG) and to implement Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Official Journal L 327, 2.12.2016, p. 1). This accessibility statement applies to the website www.welterbe-salzkammergut.at.
Compliance Status
This website is partially compliant with level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1” and with the applicable European standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (2018-08), due to certain exceptions and inconsistencies.
Non-Accessible Content
The following content is not fully accessible for the reasons listed:
- Content outside the scope of applicable laws: Many older PDF and Office documents are not accessible. For example, PDF files may not be tagged, preventing screen readers from interpreting them correctly, which does not meet WCAG Success Criterion 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value). Third-party content is excluded from Directive (EU) 2016/2102, and compliance cannot be guaranteed for this content.
- Disproportionate burden: Some videos are not hosted by us. Providing the required audio descriptions for these videos would constitute a disproportionate burden under accessibility regulations. We plan to provide text-based alternatives for time-based media instead.
Creation of this Accessibility Statement
This statement was created on 23 September 2019. The website’s compliance with the WZG and Directive (EU) 2016/2102 was assessed through a self-test according to WCAG 2.0, level AA, in September 2019. The homepage, an overview page, a news page, the search page, and search results were evaluated. Individual page content is regularly reviewed by the web editorial team when new content is published.
